“Look, I just want some dumplings.” me, at least once a week

Hey there – you may know me from a variety of different ways, whether that’s the art I do on Instagram, something (of the variety of topics) that I talk about on Threads, my work as a care coach, maybe we’re friends who bonded over board games (or dumplings), or maybe I’m just your nemesis and I don’t even know about it (the enneagram 8 in me thinks that would be cool sometimes). I’m glad you’re here!

I am an artist – I write, I draw, I design, and in my coaching I hope to co-create flourishing with the people I work with. I am passionate about helping people live free, responsible, meaningful, and authentic lives. I’m currently working on my M.A. in Counseling Psychology even though if money and time didn’t matter, I’d be perfectly happy being a chef trying to master all sorts of cuisines and techniques (probably starting with dumplings…)

In the aftermath of spiritual abuse and racial trauma a few years ago, I just needed a way to process what had happened to me and words were not enough. Instead, images poured out of me and I found myself tapping into my childhood delight of making art. I started posting some of it on my Instagram as a way to exercise my own voice and find myself again. And now, as I’ve continued my journey of healing and letting my life speak,  I would like to offer more in-depth thoughts that allow us to explore the complexity – and, really, the messiness – of moving towards a just, better, and kind world.
